Junkers Ju52

The "Auntie Ju" was a spectacularly ugly plane that was used mostly for transporting troops or cargo, but could also carry about a thousand pounds of bombs. They were slow and rather vulnerable in combat, though, and fared as well as a flock of geese over a gun show when enemy fighters appeared. The few remaining post-war Ju52's stayed in service with various countries until the 1980's.
