Aichi D3A "Val"

The Val was Japan's answer to the Stuka dive bomber, and sank more Allied ships than any other Axis airplane. Like the Stuka, though, it was slow and vulnerable, and eventually suffered badly at the hands of Allied fighters. Relegated to kamikaze duty near the end of the war, it reportedly suffered a high loss rate even in that role. (Didn't most kamikazes suffer pretty high loss rates? Did somebody lose one twice or something?)
