Hawker Tempest

Tempest

The Tempest was descended from the Typhoon, a low level fighter-bomber that was plagued by engine fires and other developmental flaws. It introduced many refinements and a thinner, eliptical wing. It was very fast at low altitude and had great success chasing buzz bombs and stalking Luftwaffe Me262 airfields, where it would pounce on the jets as they slowed down to land.
