Ju88

The Ju88 was the workhorse of the luftwaffe, and while it was a good medium bomber, like an aging actor who has been too successful, it was often forced into embarrassing roles it wasn't well suited for. Early Ju88's even sported dive brakes, thanks to the luftwaffe's enthusiasm for the dive bomber concept, which proved to be a silly idea. An even sillier use for the Ju88 was as the "Mistel", which was a Ju88 packed with explosives and attached to a fighter plane, which guided it to large targets like ships or bridges and then used it as an unmanned and largely inaccurate kamikaze.
